Transit Oriented Development (TOD)
Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is the creation of compact, walkable communities with convenient access to high frequency transit service.
There are excellent opportunities for TOD’s that can be integrated with the Stage 1 stations at Harkness, Osborne, and in the Fort Rouge Yards area.
The project planning team is collaborating with developers and city planners to ensure that the Transitway stations are effectively integrated with any new developments. For example, the City is in the process of developing a neighbourhood plan for the Corydon – Osborne area which includes Osborne Station. See the City of Winnipeg website for details
